Welcome to Montessori Voyage! We are a Montessori-based homeschooling program for families of children in grades TK-6, commencing in the 2020/2021 school year and will be available to all students who are eligible to attend Springs Charter School.  The program is rooted in Montessori theory and philosophy, with lessons and activities designed to spark the imagination and sew seeds of interest in each student.  The program will consist of distance learning at home 4 days per week, and one day a week “al fresco,” consisting of outdoor, experiential learning and/or electives and special interest clubs in small cohorts of learners who will have the opportunity to form deep connections throughout the year.

Students attending Montessori Voyage will have the opportunity to pursue individual interests, collaborate with peers, develop independence and time management skills, and cultivate personal relationships. Under the guidance of qualified educators, children will have daily opportunities to participate in live, interactive online sessions, as well as have access to recorded videos.  In addition, parents will receive mentoring and support from teachers on how to implement the Montessori philosophy and approach in the home environment.

Our Mission

The mission of each Springs Charter School is to empower students by fostering their innate curiosity, engaging their parents, and promoting optimum learning by collaboratively developing a personalized learning program for each student.

Ms. Letty Rising earned her B.A. in Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, obtained her State Teaching Credential through the California State University, San Marcos, and participated in AMS Montessori training for ages 6-9, before earning her AMI elementary diploma for ages 6-12 and M.Ed from Loyola University in Maryland. Ms. Rising moved into her first administrative role because she wanted a Montessori school for her daughters, and there were none in existence where she lived, so she started one! She has held positions as a Homeschool Education Specialist, Montessori Elementary Teacher, School Director, Principal, Montessori Coordinator, Teacher Trainer, and Consultant with several different Montessori communities over the years, throughout the United States and worldwide. In addition, she frequently blogs for Montessori organizations and has developed online courses for Montessori teachers and homeschool parents.

Ms. Rising has been working with children and families throughout most of her adult life and has a deep understanding of the developmental needs of students from infancy through high school. She cares deeply about building strong, personal relationships with both her students and their families, and has learned over the years that it is the quality of the connections between individuals that allows a school to thrive.
